Dave called meeting to order at 11:45 am.
August minutes were discussed. Carrie made a motion to accept the minutes as corrected. Judy seconded. Called to vote and passed.

* Saving account balance as of August 29, 2003 is $1730.20
* Region III account balance as of August 19, 2003 is $7,500.00 plus .51 in interest. This money was from a grant given to us by Lilly Foundation for both the Annual Conference and Region III conference.
Judy made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Reports as given. Seconded by Dianne. Called to vote and passed.
- IAD has given a $100.00 donation for the ICRID fall conference.
- Carrie is now caught up with paperwork. There have been more last minute requests for CEUs. There have been applications for independent studies turned down because deadlines have not been met. Bea and Antonettte have been assisting with determining eligibility.
- Carrie has been working with Judy and Antonette on Annual Conference.
- We will provide bar codes for CEU tracking again this year.
- Miss Deaf Indiana is the focus right now. IAD is still doing structural/committee things on their Board of Directors.
- Busy with Homecoming, Euchre Tourney, and MDI interviews.
- As of September 19, 2003, four organizational members need to renew by the end of October.
- There are 188 individual members, and of those, 134 need to renew before the end of October.
- Mary Riccius is working on the next issue.
- The Kinko’s account is being processed. They will have a list of names on file for those who need access for copying for ICRID business.
- The website has been updated as of September 3, 2003. We still cannot access the Region III link yet.
- Proposed bylaws will be copied and mailed out to the membership for reviewing by Monday, September 22, 2003.
- As of September 20, 2003, there are eight pre-registered. Early bird deadline is October 3.
- IAD, LaGrange Sons of American Legion, and Butler Sons of the American Legion have each donated $100.00 to the conference.
- Lilly Foundation has donated $7500.00, to be used for both ICRID AM and Region III conference.
- DHHS, Lucy’s Heartstrings, and SPRINT are confirmed exhibitors.
- We are in the process of arranging presenter’s travel schedules.
- Call for interpreters deadline is Oct 1, 2003. Julie Armstrong is in charge. She is looking for CDIs.
- We have a new contact person at French Lick, so we need to go and meet her.
- Terri Corey and Charlie Maurer are the Conference Support Staff coordinators.
- Committee reports are due at October Board meeting.
- Committee had meeting via email in August.
- Voted on recipients for Marvin Marshall Scholarship. Two recipients have been chosen.
- Voting is still taking place for the Member of the Year.
- Two President's awards and Les Stanfill award have been decided.
- Board awards discussed.
* ICRID brochure is finished. Five hundred have been printed and enclosed in the letter to Education people. Make sure we have copies on disc in two or three places.
Region III face-to-face meeting at ICRID conference for chairs and committee members who wish to attend. Bruce King may host something. State President’s conference call will decide Region III conference call meetings, which will take place monthly.
Education Letter in the mail and posted on website.
Clarification- Question came up at Interpreting an IEP workshop presented by Judy, Andy Rork, and Cynthia Van Mannen. Those interpreters holding EIC who are grandfathered DO NOT have to get RID certification.
Miss Deaf Indiana
* IAD would like ICRID to sponsor the tiara, scepter, sash, and roses.
* Judy made a motion: That ICRID sponsors the tiara, scepter, sash and roses for the Miss Deaf Indiana Pageant in the amount up to $150.00. Seconded by Nancy. Called to vote and passed.
* Next Saturday (9/27/03) is the euchre tourney at the Deaf Club. Will also have Freeze-K and 31 for those not playing euchre.
Discussion regarding videotape from Paul Kiel.
Library Loan list should be posted on website.
Lou Fant videotape- Dianne is making one copy for Tom Bull. Dave will send out info to members letting them know this tape is available if anyone wants a copy.
Contact Nita Starkey if you would like copies of VR PPM593. There is now an Ad Hoc Legislative Committee set up.
* Nancy Young left the room. (3:15pm)
* Motion from the membership: That ICRID donate up to $200.00 to pay for the cost of legal fees to draw up a general contract for interpreters in private practice. Antonette Needham stated she would check with the lawyer we’ve (she’s) been working with regarding this contract.
* Submitted by Evelyn Thompson and Lynne Frye. Discussion. Called to vote. Six votes in favor of motion, one abstention from Nancy Young. Motion passed.
Nancy Young returned to meeting (3:30pm)
Dianne and Judy adjourn the meeting at 3:30pm.
