ICRID Committee Duties

Annual Conference

  1. Solicit and assist event chairs with all aspects of the Annual Meeting/Conference
    1. Plan the business meeting with the President’s input
    2. Solicit and secure presenters/venues.           
      1. Complete presenter contracts.
      2. Negotiate rates/terms.
      3. Secure equipment needs.
    3. Submit proposed conference budget and final recapitulation to Ways and Means Committee.
    4. Advertise workshops, following RID guidelines.
    5. Make sure all CEU paperwork is completed and submitted by CMP coordinator following deadlines.
    6. Secure all funds to ICRID treasurer as received.
    7. Workshop evaluations completed, collected and compiled.
    8. Solicit and organize exhibitors and silent auction items
    9. Recruit and organize support staff to help work during conference
    10. Arrange food and entertainment for conference
  2. Report all AM/Conference and CEU activity to ICRID board through AM chair/board liaison

Annual Spring Retreat

    2. Submit proposed ASR budget and final recapitulation to Ways and Means Committee.
    3. Advertise workshops, following RID guidelines.
    4. Make sure all CEU paperwork is completed and submitted by CMP coordinator following deadlines.
    5. Secure all funds to ICRID treasurer as received.
    6. Workshop evaluations completed, collected and compiled.
    7. Solicit and organize exhibitors and silent auction items
    8. Recruit and organize support staff to help work during conference
    9. Arrange food and entertainment for conference
  2. Report all ASR and CEU activity to ICRID board through ASR chair/board liaison.

Awards & Scholarships

  1. Inform membership of available Awards and Scholarships and application/nomination process through newsletter, website and list serves.
  2. Receive and process award applications/nominations following necessary criteria (see Award details).
  3. Arrange for awards/plaques/certificates to made (Bardach Trophy on 86th Street, Indianapolis).
  4. Present awards at the Annual Meeting.

Bylaws

Revise and update Bylaws as necessary.

Educational Interpreter Issues

  1. Identify Educational Interpreters (EI’s) in Indiana.
    1. Demographics
  2. Develop an action plan to address needs.
    1. Support group/listserve
  3. Assist PDC with planning workshops for EI’s.
  4. Plan and provide in-service training to school administrations about the role and duties of EI’s.
  5. Develop and maintain an EI webpage on ICRID website.
    1. Compile resources and keep them updated on website.
    2. Develop a directory of EI’s for networking.

6. Develop support network between rural, urban and suburban EI’s.

Fundraising

  1. Search and locate possible sources for funding
    1. Inform membership and community of fundraising in newsletter, website, and listserves.
  2. Solicit and assist chairs for fundraising events
  3. Seek and write grants to receive funding for ICRID
    1. Prepare all required paperwork, reports and follow up
    2. Follow up with appropriate thank you correspondence to grantors

Historical

  1. Gather ICRID history from any/all sources available.
  2. Compile ICRID history into usable format.
  3. Develop and maintain a history webpage on the ICRID website

Membership

  1. Maintain an updated list of members in good standing and send to
    1. ICRID Secretary (as needed)
    2. RID National Office, Director of Member Services (names only, Oct 1st and April 1st)
    3. Region III Representative (names only, Oct 1st and April 1st)
  2. Make and send out updated membership cards.
  3. Send letter to new members detailing membership benefits.
  4. Send reminder notices after renewal dates have passed.
  5. Generate mailing labels for newsletters and other mailings.
  6. Mail copy of each newsletter to:
    1. RID National Office, Director of Member Services
    2. Region III Representative
    3. Region III Presidents
    4. Region III Newsletter Editors

Newsletter

  1. Produce ‘Insights’ Newsletter every other month.
    1. Solicit articles and advertisements
    2. Edit each issue before printing
    3. Follow deadlines.
    4. Print, copy, collate, fold, address, stamp, mail newsletter (Fed-Ex Kinko’s).
  2. Report to ICRID Board through board liaison.

Professional Development

  1. Solicit and assist event chairs with all aspects of professional development workshops.
    1. Solicit and secure presenters/venues.           
      1. Complete presenter contracts.
      2. Negotiate rates/terms.
      3. Secure equipment needs.
    2. Submit proposed event budget and final recapitulation to Ways and Means Committee.
    3. Advertise workshops, following RID guidelines.
    4. Make sure all CEU paperwork is completed and submitted by CMP coordinator following deadlines.
    5. Secure all funds to ICRID treasurer as received.
    6. Workshop evaluations completed, collected and compiled.
  2. File all necessary reports with RID.
  3. Report all PDC and CEU/CMP activity to ICRID board through board liaison.

CMP Sponsor

Processes requests for CEUs for any sponsored workshops as well as member initiated indedpendent studies, academic coursework, participant initiated non-RID activities. Submits necessary paperwork for each type of activity to the national office to ensure CEUs are creditied to member's transcripts.

Ways and Means

  1.  Prepare annual budget.
  2. Assist with any and all audits of the funds.
  3. Assist treasurer in making sure all monies are in order.
  4. Receive the proposed budged and final recapitulation forms from each event and process the information to the budget.
  5. Assist the treasurer with filing all IRS Tax forms within the deadlines.

Website

  1. Maintain the ICRID Website by posting and updating information pertinent to ICRID.
