Job Description Of the ICRID President

General Description
The President is the chapter’s chief operating officer and generally responsible for managing all chapter activities. 
The President is guided in his/her decision making process by the Board of Directors.
 


Term
Two (2) years as chapter President and two (2) years as Past President.  The President may run for additional terms.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Duties for the President include, but are not limited to: 

  1. Preside at all board meetings and report pertinent information to the membership.
  2. Appoint regular and special chapter committee members and board liaisons to all ICRID committees.
  3. Assign and manage all chapter objectives, projects, and task force activities.
  4. Act as the chapter liaison with other chapters, Region III, and the National Office.
  5. Act as the Primary chapter representative with outside organizations.
  6. Coordinate all chapter activities with the national activities and objectives.
  7. Provide a President’s column for each issue of both the state and national newsletter.
  8. Approve all pertinent disbursements for payment consistent with the operating budget and co-sign checks with the treasurer.
  9. Review and recommend chapter bylaws revisions as needed.
  10.  Develop and submit chapter reports to the Regional Representative.
  11.  Attend all board meetings, Annual Conferences, and special meetings as necessary.
  12.   Attend Region III Presidents’ Council conference calls and meetings.
  13.   Answer emails/calls/letters from ICRID members.

Job Description Of the ICRID Vice President

General Description

          The Vice-President acts in the capacity of the President when the chapter President is unable to be President.  The Vice President is also delegated responsibility by the President at his/her discretion.

Term

          Two (2) years.  The Vice-President may run for additional terms.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Duties for the Vice-President include, but are not limited to: 
 
1.      Assist with the preparation of an operating budget as necessary, with the chairperson of the         Ways and Means committee, for the upcoming chapter year.

  1. Serve as chair of the Annual ICRID Conference Committee.
  2. Attend all board meetings, Annual Conferences, and special meetings as necessary.
  3. Attend all meetings that the President is unable to attend with his/her proxy as necessary.
  4. Act as liaison to assigned ICRID committees, coordinate hospitality needs for meetings.
  5. Other duties as assigned by the President.

Job Description of ICRID Secretary

General Description

          The Secretary is responsible for maintaining all chapter records of meetings and communicating that data to the appropriate members and other interested individuals.

Term

          Two (2) years.  The Secretary may run for additional terms.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Duties for the Secretary include, but are not limited to: 

  1. Record and publish minutes from all board meetings in a timely manner.
  2. Assure that the minutes from any prior meeting are available for review and approval at all board meetings.
  3. Have reporting forms available for all chapter committees.
  4. Work with the membership chair to maintain the “official” ICRID membership list.
  5. Attend all board meetings, Annual Conferences, and special meetings as necessary.
  6. Prepare chapter mailings.
  7. Act as liaison to assigned committees.
  8. Send corrected minutes to web-master for posting on the website in a timely manner.
  9. Send corrected minutes to the RID National office in a timely manner.
  10. Keep an official (printed and computer disk) archive of minutes and all meetings during term, to be given to successor.

Job Description  of  the  ICRID Treasurer

General Description

  The Treasurer is responsible for the safekeeping, recording, and disbursement of all chapter funds in accordance with fiscal policy, board discretion, and the annual operating budget.

Term

          Two (2) years as treasurer.  The Treasurer may run for additional terms.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Duties for the Treasurer include, but are not limited to: 

  1. Establish and maintain a chapter checking account and all other accounts as needed.
  2. Issue all checks for budgeted expenditures and/or any exceptions approved by the board and obtain the President’s approval and signature on a timely basis.
  3. Ensure that all expenditures are approved and verified prior to payment in a timely manner.
  4. Ensure that all receipts and disbursements are recorded consistent with the appropriate accounting conventions currently in practice in a timely manner.
  5. Attend all board meetings, Annual Conferences, and special meetings as necessary.
  6. Ensure that all deposits are made in full with appropriate backup and receipt in a timely manner.
  7. Offer appropriate assistance in annual audit process.
  8. Submit the appropriate financial reports to the national Office on an annual basis.
  9. Prepare and deliver a financial report at each board meeting and Annual Conference.
  10.  File tax-exempt status and recommend to board investment vehicles for additional funds.
  11.  Report unresolved check discrepancies immediately to the appropriate individuals.
  12.  Establish accounts with vendors.

 Job Description of  ICRID Member at Large

General Description

          The Member-at-Large is a representative of the ICRID body representing its views and intentions.

Term

          Four (4) year term.  The Member-at-Large may run for additional terms.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Duties for the Member-at-Large include, but are not limited to: 

  1. Act as liaison to assigned ICRID committees.
  2. Alternate among other members-at-large for the chairperson of the Annual Spring Retreat (ASR), therefore, each member-at-large will serve as chairperson once during his/her term.
  3. Attend all board meetings, Annual Conferences, and special meetings as necessary.
  4. Participate in all chapter objectives, projects, and task force activities.
  5. Act as representative with outside organizations.
  6. Assist Vice-President during the ICRID Annual Conference.
  7. Assist chairperson with ASR (when not acting as the chairperson).
  8. Serve as board liaison to the ICRID satellites keeping communication lines open.
  9. Carry out duties and responsibilities assigned by the President.
  10.   Respond to ICRID correspondence (emails, phone calls, etc.) in a timely manner

Job Description of the ICRID IAD Representative
General Description

          The IAD Representative is an elected IAD member to serve on the ICRID Board.  This member represents the views and intentions of IAD and ICRID.

Term

          This position is selected by IAD.  Their election process is followed in the selection of the IAD Representative who will serve on the ICRID Board.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Duties for the IAD Representative include, but are not limited to:

  1. Act as liaison between IAD and ICRID and provide reports to both organizations.
  2. Attend all board meetings, Annual Conferences, and special meetings as necessary.
  3. Participate in all chapter objectives, projects, and task force activities.
  4. Act as a representative with outside organizations.
  5. Assist Vice-President during the ICRID Annual Conference.
  6. Assist the Annual Spring Retreat Coordinator during this event.
  7. Carry out duties and responsibilities assigned by the President.
  8. Serve as a liaison to ICRID committees as assigned.

General Description

          The Past President serves as an advisor to the presiding President and executive board of directors.  The Past President has full voting privileges with all the rights and responsibilities.

Term

          Two (2) year term after the Presidency has been completed.

Duties for the Past President include, but are not limited to: 

  1. Serve as advisor to the presiding President and his/her board of directors.

Job Description of ICRID Student Liaison
General Description

          The Student Liaison serve as a liaison between the ICRID Board and the college/university he/she is representing.  The intention is to keep communication flowing between the college/university and the ICRID membership.

Term

          Student Liaisons are appointed by the ICRID President or a representative of the college/university.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Duties for the Student Liaison include, but are not limited to: 

  1. Act as a liaison between ICRID and the college/university he/she represents communicating concerns back and forth between their respective universities and ICRID.
  2. Attend all board meetings, Annual Conferences, and special meetings as necessary.
  3. Participate in chapter objectives, projects and task force activities.
  4. May serve on any ICRID committee.
  5. Carry out duties and responsibilities assigned by the President.
  6. *This position currently does not carry any voting privileges.
  7. Serve as conference support staff for ICRID events/conferences.
