ICRID Board meeting – April 24, 2003

Dave Calvert called meeting to order at 6:55
Carrie Westhoelter reminded Bob Canty that at ICRID's Annual Conference
this past November 2002, ICRID provided IAD an exhibit booth at no charge with
an understanding that ICRID would also receive an exhibit booth at no
charge at IAD's Conference in 2003. Bob Canty recalled this agreement and said he
would talk with Mike Reis and waive ICRID's exhibit booth fee for the IAD
Conference on Saturday, April 25, 2003.
Minutes:
Need to revisit the issue of reducing the dues for senior citizens – Ask Bob Canty about his motion.
Antonette Needham made a motion to accept minutes as corrected. Nancy Young seconded. Called to vote. Passed.

RID National Conference –
ICRID – silent auction – going well – Pacer’s sent an umbrella, Fever will send something also.
ICRID is a Gold Sponsor; therefore, ICRID received 2 complimentary banquet tickets (Nancy Young & Antonette Needham will use these.). ICRID also received 1 paid registration (Dave Calvert will check on getting refund and use that for his registration).
PIN Conference – Will use bar code stickers for CEUs. ICRID will have a booth at the PIN conference to sell t-shirts. Janet Beattie wants us to sponsor the printing cost of the program for the PIN conference up to $250. Includes a full-page ad from ICRID.
Judy Cain made a motion to allocate up to $250.00 to cover the cost of printing the program book for the PIN conference, which will include a full-page ad. Antonette Needham seconded. Dave Calvert will write the ad and send it to Janet Beattie.
Rationale: This conference will directly benefit the membership in our state and our financial sponsorship of this event. Called to vote: passed.
2004 Region III conference: There are 2 possible presenters for the Region III conference. Terri Waddell- Motter, and Donald Tinsley. Antonette Needham will follow up with them. Contract: Negotiations between Clay Nettles and Westin Hotel. First face-to-face committee chairpersons meeting will be in August, sometime after National Conference. One more committee had been added: Raffle – Kelley Flores will chair that and make sure all the paperwork is taken care of.
ICRID Listserv – Dave Calvert is moderator. He is the only one who can send mass emails, ensuring security for the membership.
Webmaster / On Ramp – We will keep On Ramp as our provider to keep the money in the state. Voted. Passed.
PTCO – Booth has been arranged and is ready to go. ICRID will sell t-shirts.
Sorority – not good news. State conference did not vote to fund us on the state level, but the Greenfield Chapter will on the local level.
Brochure -- suggestions for changes – need to “spice” it up some with some photos and add some more information. Judy Cain will send out a revision, please give feedback quickly.
School letter – still waiting for the brochure and organizational member letter to be included before sending it out.
Position paper – ICRID is in the process of gathering information for establishing a position paper addressing the issue of qualifications of educational interpreters.
ICRID member cards with RID member number – Randy Nicolai provided samples for us to look at.
