What is ICRID?

ICRID is a non-profit organization of professional interpreters, consumers, and
persons interested in interpreting within the deaf community. ICRID is a state
chapter of the national Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).

ICRID's Mission statement:

It is the mission of the Indiana Chapter (ICRID) of RID, Inc. to provide regional, state, and local forums and an organizational structure for the continued growth and development of the professions of interpretation and transliteration of American Sign Language.

ICRID's Philosophy:

Our philosophy is to strive for excellence in the delivery of interpretation/transliteration services among people who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing using a signed language and those people who use a spoken language to ensure effective communication.

As the professional state association for interpreters, transliterators, and students interested in the profession. ICRID serves as an essential resource for its members in their pursuit of excellence.
